I take this opportunity to thank you all for the assistance and support that has been given to me over the past 13 years as President and prior to that 5 years as vice-President. This is a long time in anyone's life especially in mine and Denise's. I could not have achieved this without the support she has given me during this time.
As we fast approach the Annual General Meeting I have made a decision not to stand as President, likewise Denise has indicated that she is taking a break as well after 13 years in the role of Secretary. If you would recollect that at last years AGM I was not going to stand, however some of the goings on that went on in the Club plus the many phone calls of support to us changed our minds and we were subsequently re-elected for that year. After that meeting Denise and I discussed our future and agreed that the 2013 - 2014 year would be our final year in the leadership role for us. This was furthermore determined when Steven, our son, visited us over Christmas and told us that he and Lisa, were going to have a baby in June and having a break from a management role, would allow us to get away when and as we please to see them and have a bit of time to ourselves.
We will not be leaving the club and I will still be involved with the band but it will give us a bit more flexibility to be able to do our thing. This is something we are looking forward to.
As I said earlier I would like to thank you for the support, in many different ways, you have given and shown Denise & I over this time. And it is with a tear in the eye that we say thank you for your being there when you were needed.
We look forward to seeing you around the traps and for the future of Guanaba CMC and hope that the tradition of the Club continues on as one of being a fun club where all members strive to the success for the Club.
Many thanks and love to all David & Denise Mazzer 14 August 2014
