REVUE - Monthly Social - 17 MAY 2009

- Laurie Barton blowing them away -

Our MAY SOCIAL was held on Sunday, 17 MAY 2009.

Yet another great day at The Firestation, enjoyed by everyone. Performances were all of a consistently high standard, but the performance of the day that definitely stole the show was by our very own Laurie Barton, who absolutely stole the limelight and the show with his passionate rendition of a traditional blues number whilst he strummed away on his mid-sized ukelele. WOW! He sure did bring the house down!!!

Another highlight of the afternoon, was a stirring tribute to our very own Joan Fenner by our infamous vocal group, The Rottweilers. Joan recently officially became an Australian citizen (having been born in Ireland), after about 50 years of having been a resident here in this fair land of ours. The Rottweilers decided to christen this magnanimous occasion with their own heart-felt version of the classic Australian song 'Waltzing Matilda'.

REVUE - Monthly Social - 19 APR 2009

Our APRIL SOCIAL was held on Sunday, 19 APRIL 2009. A beautifully fine day, but verging on the point of being a little too warm during mid-afternoon. It was really nice to see Jeanette Mackenzie and Bonnie Watts back on the stage performing, after their relatively recent stints in hospital. Many new faces were very evident in the audience also.

All the photos (86 posted) taken during the afternoon are now available for viewing online 24/7, by clicking on the appropriate links APR 19 Social Photos Online on this page .. or by clicking on the collage image above.
